Waldorf Homeschooling with Carrie Dendtler of the Parenting Passageway
Check Out Our Incredible Waldorfy Supporter! Palumba believes that imaginative, open-ended play with simple toys, crafted from beautiful, natural material offers children warmth and a sense of well-being when discovering their world. I so enjoyed recording this episode with Carrie Dendtler of theparentingpassageway.com. In this season of episodes it was important for me to speak to multiple guests on the topic of Waldorf homeschooling. One because I know so little about it myself, but also because I know that different listeners will connect with different homeschool journeys. When I set out to find guests to speak about Waldorf homeschooling in this season almost every one I spoke…

Waldorf Toys
Check Out Our Incredible Waldorfy Supporter! Palumba believes that imaginative, open-ended play with simple toys, crafted from beautiful, natural material offers children warmth and a sense of well-being when discovering their world. I had THE MOST FUN recording this episode with Meagan Wilson of Wholefamilyrhythms.com. Meagan is amazing, it's my third time having her on the show and she has so much wisdom to share it's always a true pleasure to have her. For those of you who are not familiar with her, Meagan is the founder and educator behind Whole Family Rhythms. She is mother to four beautiful souls and a grateful and loving wife to…

Waldorf in the Muslim Home
When I thought about creating this season of episodes it dawned on me, how bringing Waldorf into the home will really be different in every household. Yes, there are things like some Waldorf kids watch a little more TV than others, but that was not the kind of different I was thinking of. I wanted to explore how Waldorf ideas and methods were incorporated into family traditions that aren’t included in a traditional Waldorf school year. How can traditions from all around the world be brought into the Waldorf fold? This is exactly what I discuss in this episode with guest Ashley May. Ashley eloquently described what drew her to…

Seasonal Rhythm and Waldorf Festivals
The topic of seasonal rhythm and Waldorf festivals is one I was so excited to explore on the podcast. Since rediscovering all things “Waldorfy” as an adult and parent, I’ve loved cooking and crafting for celebrations we’ve enjoyed as a family and community. However, there have been some “holidays” that haven’t had much meaning for me. Ones I’ve struggled to create purpose in celebrating. This fall Halloween was that day for me. I just couldn’t find any meaning in it outside of the candy and store bought plastic decorations. (Also I’ll ad that the pumpkins didn’t work out on the farm this year which didn’t help.) We ended up doing…

Waldorf Homeschooling with Melisa Nielsen of Waldorf Essentials
It was such a delight to have Melisa Nielsen come on the show to speak with me about Waldorf homeschooling. I’ll be honest, I was intimidated to cover this topic since it’s something I know almost nothing about. So many of you requested that I cover Waldorf homeschooling and I didn’t even know where to begin. I asked the Waldorfy social media audience, who they would like to hear from on the topic of Waldorf homeschooling and overwhelmingly the guest that the most people wanted to hear from was Melisa. I personally didn’t know Melisa and because I’m always trying to bring you all the very best of guests and…

Daily Rhythm
It was such a joy to have Meagan Wilson of Whole Family Rhythms as a guest on this episode. Meagan is the founder and educator behind Whole Family Rhythms. She is mother to four children and loving wife to Brad. After living ten years in Sydney Australia, they have recently put down new roots in the Canadian countryside just outside of Toronto. After the birth of her first child, Meagan developed an interest in play-based learning, natural parenting and Waldorf Education and went on to complete her Foundations in Steiner Education and Anthroposophy at Sydney Steiner College. In 2017, under the direction of Kim John Payne and Davina Muse, she…

Media & Screen Time: What’s the Waldorf Approach
What is the Waldorf approach to media and screen exposure? It is, and has been for many years, a strong view that media and screen time should be limited to nothing for very young children and minimal for children in primary school. Although many Waldorf schools are understanding of the difficulty in creating such a limit in today’s world, this viewpoint has stayed fairly consistent. In this episode my fantastic guest, David Sewell McCann and I explore this topic. As a story teller and former Waldorf teacher, David recognizes that early on it’s important to develop an image rich life. Through life experiences, hearing stories, and looking at picture books,…
