    Anthroposophy, Architecture, and Design

Check Out Our Incredible Waldorfy Supporter! Palumba believes that imaginative, open-ended play with simple toys, crafted from beautiful, natural material offers children warmth and a sense of well-being when discovering their world. This lovely photo is of the Waldorf school I attended, the Pine Hill Campus at High Mowing School in Wilton New Hampshire. When I was young I often wondered why our school was in such a unique building.  As children my friends and I would joke about how it had "no right angles", which isn't actually true. However the unique angles in the building have certainly sparked me to wonder, "why?". I loved hosting the…

    Wisdom of a Biodynamic Farmer

Check Out Our Incredible Waldorfy Supporter! Palumba believes that imaginative, open-ended play with simple toys, crafted from beautiful, natural material offers children warmth and a sense of well-being when discovering their world. This episode is unique and is quite a bit different than episodes I’ve done in the past. In the last episode , which was episode 302, titled, “Biodynamic Farming”, I spoke with Alice Groh in depth about biodynamic farming, what it is and especially what distinguishes it from conventional and organic farming. In this episode my discussion with Lincoln centers on his experience as a biodynamic farmer. We talk about how he got into biodynamic…

    Biodynamic Farming

Check Out Our Incredible Waldorfy Supporter! Palumba believes that imaginative, open-ended play with simple toys, crafted from beautiful, natural material offers children warmth and a sense of well-being when discovering their world. The area of Rudolf Steiner's study of anthroposophy that interests me most, second to Waldorf education of course is biodynamic farming. I happen to be a member at a biodynamic farm and I have to tell you that the beyond delicious goodies we get from our farm fill both my family's bellies and souls with their goodness. So what is biodynamic farming? What makes it unique? This is exactly what I break down in this…

    Anthroposophy ~TRAILER FOR SEASON 3~

This trailer was so fun to create and so different than any episode I've done before. I am most excited to announce the theme for season 3 which is.... Anthroposophy! It's a huge topic, but something I've really wanted to do a deep dive in for a while. To give you a quick explanation of the relationship between anthroposophy and Waldorf education, I make a comparison  of anthroposophy being like a tree. Waldorf education is like a branch of that tree. Then there are other things that the founder of Waldorf education Rudolf Steiner had developed views on as well. Things like biodynamic farming, social finance, medicine, and these are…

    Waldorf Alumni Mothers

Check Out Our Incredible Waldorfy Supporter! Palumba believes that imaginative, open-ended play with simple toys, crafted from beautiful, natural material offers children warmth and a sense of well-being when discovering their world. It was an absolute honor to speak with the mothers featured in this episode. It came to me while exploring this season's topic of Waldorf in the home, that there may be some interest in how we do things in our home, as Waldorf alumni now mothers. In each segment of this episode I speak with each featured guest individually. We discuss what their Waldorf experience was like, how the transition was from Waldorf to…

In this episode I speak with Rahima Baldwin Dancy author of, “You Are Your Child’s First Teacher”. I felt so honored that Rahima accepted my invitation to speak on the show. She had so much wisdom to share. Rahima is internationally known as the author of You Are Your Child’s First Teacher, based on the indications of Rudolf Steiner for early childhood (birth to age six).  The book came out in a new US edition in 2012…

Waldorf Homeschooling with Carrie Dendtler of the Parenting Passageway

Check Out Our Incredible Waldorfy Supporter! Palumba believes that imaginative, open-ended play with simple toys, crafted from beautiful, natural material offers children warmth and a sense of well-being when discovering their world. I so enjoyed recording this episode with Carrie Dendtler of theparentingpassageway.com. In this season of episodes it was important for me to speak to multiple guests on the topic of Waldorf homeschooling. One because I know so little about it myself, but also because I know that different listeners will connect with different homeschool journeys. When I set out to find guests to speak about Waldorf homeschooling in this season almost every one I spoke…

    Seasonal Rhythm and Waldorf Festivals

The topic of seasonal rhythm and Waldorf festivals is one I was so excited to explore on the podcast. Since rediscovering all things “Waldorfy” as an adult and parent, I’ve loved cooking and crafting for celebrations we’ve enjoyed as a family and community. However, there have been some “holidays” that haven’t had much meaning for me. Ones I’ve struggled to create purpose in celebrating. This fall Halloween was that day for me. I just couldn’t find any meaning in it outside of the candy and store bought plastic decorations. (Also I’ll ad that the pumpkins didn’t work out on the farm this year which didn’t help.) We ended up doing…
